Bio

It is virtually impossible to talk about Teresa Brown without acknowledging her artistic talent and sheer beauty of her spirit. Blessed with one of the greatest voices, Teresa has crossed stylistic, social and age barriers with her inspirational delivery and powerful music. With a warm inviting personality and genuine love for God, this is Teresa Brown’s time.

At age 12, the performing bug bit Teresa when she began to be involved in community theatre. She put to use her dance lessons and church choir experience, and threw herself into every musical. By age 16 her dream for Broadway was born.

After graduating from Clemson University with a BA in English and minor in Theatre, Teresa moved to New York City with dreams of stardom on Broadway. God, however, had a different plan. Becoming a Christian changed the course of her life and dreams. “I began to long for God's glory rather than my own glory and fame. I found greater satisfaction from helping a searching soul to find answers in God and his word than I ever found in getting a part in a show”.

Teresa began using her talents for spiritual purposes. She loved singing in church and moving hearts for God. One of the most life changing performance experiences was originating the role of Abby (the apostle Peter's wife) in the original musical **"Upside Down" based on the book of Acts in the Bible. Two years later, she played the role of Michel in another original musical called "Slingshot" based on David's early life.

In the next few years she trained for the full time ministry and was hired to help lead in the performing arts ministry of the New York City Church of Christ. It was a perfect fit as she was able to serve God using her talents to help other performers to be spiritually minded in their careers. “My greatest joys came from helping many performers study the bible and learn what it meant to truly commit their lives to God. That ministry grew in leaps and bounds with many amazing performers becoming Christians.”

During this time, the musical "Upside Down" went on tour and played The Boston Opera House, BMCC College in New York City, the Boston Garden. From East to West, Teresa has performed in cities including Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Atlanta and of course, New York city’s Madison Square Garden.

Internationally, Teresa has performed as a solo artist at Christian concerts in Toronto, Paris, Munich, Sao Paulo, Tokyo, Seoul, Manila, Bannock, and Hong Kong.

In her personal life, Teresa is married to a wonderful, faithful man of God named Jim Brown. They have two children, Mackenzie age 12 and Dylan age 10. Their lives evolve around their family and serving in the Ministry in Westchester County, New York.

“My prayer is that God will continue to use my voice to bring glory to God, and that He will continue to lead me in my life and ministry to help many more people to become Christians”.
