Bio
Teresa Esguerra has been a fixture on the Sacramento singer/songwriter music scene since 2000. With an emphasis on lyrics, dynamics, and arrangements, she’s been studying the songwriting craft since 14 years of age, influenced by the likes of Shawn Colvin, Jeff Tweedy (Wilco), the Indigo Girls, Richard Thompson, and the Band (and the occasional hair metal act from the 1980's). From 2001-2005, she fronted the acoustic band Local Honey and the trio regularly at venues such as the True Love Coffeehouse and Luna’s Café, sharing bills with the likes of Kevin Seconds (of 7Seconds fame), Barbara Manning, David Houston, and SF's True Margrit . The partnership resulted in the 2003 release of "Nine Songs", all original compositions by Esguerra.
Teresa continues as a solo act in 2005. She has ventured into the home recording arena and starting her own record label called Dayjob Records. As a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, vocals), Teresa has self produced two independent releases, "The Hardest Thing" EP in 2004 and the recent "I Don’t Want to Feed You" with her side project Ears Back.
