Ms. T. is a songbird with three distinct octaves... What does she sing....EVERYTHING...!!!

The World of Music constantly bids Teresa Middleton to sing. Being raised in the South and a native of Raleigh, NC, there is no surprise that Teresa's church roots began in Longview Baptist Church. Locally, Teresa Middleton served as lead vocalist for the Asbury United Methodist Church Contemporary Praise Team from 1995 to 2006.

Realizing her thirst for musical knowledge led Teresa to earn a BA in Religious Studies with a minor in Music from Meredith College for Women in the Arts graduating cum laude in 2004. Incredible is the fact that Middleton entered college not even knowing how to read music!

For local Raleigh fans, Risa Poniros of the family's famed Roast Grill tackled the task of teaching Middleton three years of Classical vocal study. Poniros gave Middleton a very firm grip forbidding her when it came to Contemporary styles that would use a microphone. Middleton slowly began to apply basic classical technique to each Sunday's praise music. What Professor Poniros also gave Teresa Middleton was the position as Vocal Instructor for the Raleigh John Robert Powers School where Teresa has taught since 2004. What Teresa really grabbed hold of was versatility and diversity.

In addition to her performances, Teresa has developed a Group Class called "Butterflies" for students with anxiety facing routine or upper level performances or presentations at church, school or auditions. Watching Middleton work with students is a true pleasure. She has a style that brings out beautiful features and strengths in each student.

Professor Poniros told Teresa from the very beginning "You are a singer. Don't ever forget that. How much of a singer even I don't know. Just remember."
