Bio

TERI FALINI, a San Francisco based quartet. They are a rising band having just played NOISEPOP and Bagel Radio’s California Homegrown Music series. Some favorites they’ve played with include Scissors for Lefty, Von Iva, The Billy Nayer Show, the Herms, Push to Talk, Hopewell and the Ex-Boyfriends.

The band’s, first full length, Sun Under Me, was released June, 2005. The press compared Falini’s vocals to every female singer from PJ Harvey to the 1960’s Grace Slick. Eighteen months later, the band is releasing their 2nd full length, The Room.

TERI FALINI is named for it’s lead singer who is a Harvard trained attorney that gave up conventional success after experiencing personal tradegy. The Room’s lyrics hint at Falini’s vivid and life experience. In the Psychedelic opener, tangerine, Falini sings about the seduction of drugs, “Come and see my twisted mirror/see the running deer/right through the dense dark smoke/they run in fear. Come and be inside my mind/ come to
where I am free.” In the album’s hypnotic centerpiece, My Father, Falini sings about the institutionalization of a family member while Caputo’s e-bows seem to personify the pain of Falini’s vocal.” The music is rich, lush and melodic with swirling ebows and juxtaposed guitar and keyboard tracks. The harmonies add a pop texture reminicent of the late 70's band X.
