EL PASO -- Singer-songwriter Teri Hart as well as local bands will be featured during the Rock the Fort Family Fun Day, which is from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Balfour Beatty's Kelly Park.

The free event hosted by Fort Bliss Morale, Welfare and Recreation is meant to show appreciation for the military and their families and includes food, jumping balloons, miniature golf, a dunking tank and children's games.

Texas-based singer/songwriter Teri Hart recently appeared on "Talk of the Town with Tom Pace" Saturday, May 17th, 2008. Hart was interviewed in-studio with Pace, about her career, and how she came to write the two original songs that are her tributes to the troops.

She also performed "Until They All Come Home" live with Pace on his radio show broadcast on SuperTalk 1340, KRMD-AM from Shreveport, Louisiana. That was one of the songs she wrote for her son, and the other troops deployed overseas.

Teri began playing professionally in the 90's in a country band, toured the club scene in Texas, moved on to playing with a high energy variety band doing mostly covers, playing clubs, casinos,resorts, weddings, festivals and corporate gigs across the U.S. Teri was named Most Promising Songwriter over 43 writers from a 12 state region in the Making Texas Music Songwriting Event. Judges included DJ Fontana (former drummer of Elvis Presley) and Tom Perryman, Dennis (Weemus) Grubb, and Prof. of Music Don Turner.
Influences range all the way from Patsy Cline to Melissa Ethridge and Bonnie Raitt. Today Teri Hart is spearheading the Nothin' Yellow but the Ribbon(TM) tour and debuting her latest single Until They All Come Home in honor of the Troops.
