Bio

Terrible Friends were born in Bergenfield in 1996. Terrible Friends are the only band from Bergen County to have formed in the 90's that did not get all emo. Lyrically, Terrible Friends are always thoughtful, never self-indulgent, always realistic, never pessimistic. Musically, Terrible Friends fuses a classic indie rock aesthetic with a powerful hard rock rhythm section and classy pop melodicism.

The best thing about Terrible Friends is that they will never write the same song twice. Not content to rest on formulas that may work for lazier bands, Terrible Friends have spent countless hours hatching new ways to craft a perfect song. Building upon an indie rock foundation of Archers of Loaf, Guided by Voices, Modest Mouse et al, Terrible Friends combine the aesthetic of lo-fi heroes with the rock power of influences that range from Primus to Prince, Bruce Springsteen to Bad Brains, Pavement to Parliament. They have been compared to artists as diverse as Elvis Costello, The Kinks, Silkworm, Squeeze, Sonic Youth and The Replacements - all different, but all exciting and memorable. New Jersey promoter Tispy V has described their music as "an indie rock amalgam [that covers] a wide enough swatch to attract even the most jaded shoe-gazer".

They have rocked local New York and New Jersey crowds at venues that include Bloomfield Ave. Cafe, Hansil's Bar, The Heights Saloon, The Wreck Room, Riddles, The C-Note, New York University and I.C.U. Bar and are looking to stun crowds on big stages in any state.
