Bio

Terri Davis, a voice made by God’s hands. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, and raised in Salina, Kansas, she began singing music at an early age in her church choir.

In 1982, Terri and her family moved to Los Angeles, California where she attended Locke High School. Much to her surprise, famous producer, Mr. Reggie Andrews – then producer of the R&B group “The Dazz Band,” taught her music class. He considered Terri as one of the awesome voices in his class.

It was through this class where she met Robert Gilmore, a substitute teacher and founder of Robert Gilmore and Praise (a worship group consisting of about nine powerful voices). Terri joined this group and went on to open in ministry with Gospels great, James Cleveland. “Singing in that choir took me to another level,” says Terri.

Outside of that group she continued to sing in talent shows and showcase competitions taking first place in most.

In 1991, Terri competed against great talent all across the west coast, taking 1st place in The West Coast Apollo Showcase. That accomplishment opened the door for her to make her first video for the song that gave her the first place title called “I Wonder,” which was written by a close friend of the family.

In 1992, while performing the National anthem in a Las Vegas hotel, she brought the audience to complete silence. It was at this performance that she met the famous promoter, Ken Brownlee (former promoter for the Temptations and a number of other nationally known artists). Terri continued to actively sing and record with Ken, which allowed her to minister in song with the likes of Rance Allen and Ricky Grundy, among others. “He was a blessing to my life, my career, and my music,” says Terri.

Terri was invited to open for John P. Kee at Reggie Gay’s 2003 Gospel Fest, singing her debut title “I Can Count on Him".

Living in Atlanta, Georgia for the past nine years, she says that she is now a true peach. Terri is looking forward to her music ministering to nations.

Slater Records gospel recording released her debut album in the fall of 2004 titled, “I Can Count on Him”, which was produced by Stan Brewer of Kool Kat Records. The album includes songs described as traditional, foot tapping and hand clapping, with a little jazz, a little groove, and neo soul.

Terri is also the 2004 Atlanta Gospel Showcase Award winner.

“I Can Count on Him” can be heard on Praise 1040 AM – a Georgia Gospel radio station, hosted by Larry Young.

Terri's music reaches to Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, and Arkansas, both through radio and TV/Video.

“With God, all things are possible,” says Terri.
