""Terrie Rimson transitions from Gospel Music to R&B/Soul as a current First Lady.""

Terrie Rimson is a force, her kindness shines through so does her charm and her smile is infectious. Terrie is buying what she’s selling; God, joy, love, life and song.

The Oakland native found herself in Philly at the age of ten, when her family moved there in the late 70’s. By the mid 80’s Terrie was in love and married to the Bishop of Kingdom Dominion Cathedral, making her a first lady, she also started singing background for artist like Twinkie Clark, Darryl Cole and Karen Clark Sheard, but in 2014 Terrie took center stage.

Her single Zion was released, garnering her individual notoriety and four nominations at the Rhythm of Gospel awards.

Gospel artist Terrie Rimson
“I’ve been singing since I was 5 years old and I know the power in the word and in song”

Now emerging as a solo artist, Terrie is stepping into the secular space, R&B to be exact. “With Zion, people told me they got a good feeling and felt good about life; I think that needs to happen to everyone”

With artist like Lacrae and Fantasia, who have made their mark in secular music while staying true to their spiritual roots, Terrie is a fan of the philosophy that you have to take the word to the people. She will release her first secular single, a remake of Evelyn Champaign King’s Love Come Down this summer.

“Sometimes we as church people forget that we’ve heard the word, we got it!” she laughs “I want to reach the people who may not make it every Sunday, what we’ve done with this song, you can play it at the bar-b-que’s at the park, around your kids”

If her enthusiasm for the record is any indication, you will enjoy how she has interpreted the record and its title.

She will also be making her rounds to spread the word… “We don’t have the itinerary done just yet, but I will definitely be out promoting the record and touring to support it.”

I love meeting people as they are reaching for a goal; Terrie Rimson is definitely going to meet hers. You can catch the soprano singer in her ministry on YouTube and see for yourself the spirit that travel phones lines. One of the Black Community’s greatest gifts to the world is an astounding list of genres and artists who have changed the way we all listen to music. Therefore, when a black artist crosses genres it should come as no surprise, and R&B Soul Artist, Terrie Rimson plans to make her mark doing just that. Terrie Rimson is no stranger to the spotlight, she has been captivating audiences with her smooth soprano vocals since the age of 5. Born in Oakland, California by age 10 her family moved across the country to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a city that has produced some music biggest names. In the mid 80’s Terrie married Bishop Derek A. Rimson (Pastor of Kingdom Dominion Cathedral in Philly) making her The First Lady. For several years, Terrie found work as a background singer, singing and performing with Gospel Artists such as Twinkie Clark, Darryl Coley Karen Clark Sheard. In 2014, Terrie catapulted to center stage releasing her first independent gospel single, “Zion” and was nominated for 4 Rhythm of Gospel Awards. In 2015, she released two more independent gospel singles, “I Was Created” and “Blessin’ Me”. Terrie continued to evolve and independently created and produced an internet Reality DocuSeries, “All About Terrie”, and in 2015 the show won a Gospel Image Award for “Best Gospel Internet Television Show”. In 2017, Terrie decided to cross genres and record R&B Soul music. Her first single due for a summer release is a cover of Evelyn Champagne King’s widely successful 1982 hit, “Love Come Down”with 2017 production by Deryck “DA” Rimson.  Rimson says “It’s not all about singing hymns and devotional songs but, it’s about wisely producing & recording music that can touch the lives and hearts of everyone.
