Bio

Terry Bartolotta Group has been performing for the last year throughout the Chicago area as part of the Eyes and Ears Music Series at Jerry's, and at venues like Andy's Jazz Club and the Green Mill Lounge. The band just celebrated the release of their debut Cd, "Above the Clouds," by performing at Chicago's Andy's Jazz Club in July. "Above the Clouds" features nine original jazz works written by Bartolotta, and inspired by the city of Chicago, as well as by friends and family. The band is musically influenced by Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane, Peter Bernstein, and Brad Mehldau. This September, Bartolotta won the Union League Civic Arts Foundation Jazz Composition Competition for his song "Times Change" from their debut recording.

The group features Nick Sednew on trumpet, Alex Beltran on tenor sax, Terry Bartolotta on guitar, Nathan Kawaller on bass, and Lucas Gillan on drums. These five young and talented Chicagoans form a group that engages and inspires jazz audiences.

Recently, TBG has been played and featured on many local radio stations including: WNUR Northwestern Univ. Radio, KFAI Minneapolis, and WDCB College of Dupage Radio. In addition, Bartolotta was featured and interviewed by Lofton Emenari for his show "What Is This Thing Called Jazz" on WHPK Univ. of Chicago. The group was also featured on Nick Carver's jazz guitar podcast, "No Idle Frets."
