"Terry Sumsion"

Terry Sumsion: Superstar in Critical Reviews that read in-part: "If you have the good fortune to sit in on a live TERRY SUMSION performance, you've undoubtedly come away with a feeling that you have been entertained by a special talent." Country Music News.
Singer of Hit Songs: Sumsion, to date, has garnered over ten top-forty hits including "Our Lovin' Place", "Midnight Invitation", "When You Leave That Way", "There Go I", "So Hard to Forget", "Brand New Love Affair", "One More Time", his special arrangement of "Shenandoah", "Born Again", "That's When You Know It's Over", "Crazy Love Games", and "Too Bad We're Only Friends". Two of Terry's six albums were award-winners; "Our Lovin' Place" was nominated by CCMA for album and single of the year. The single was also fan-voted into the number twelve position on the list of the Top Two-Hundred Canadian Country Songs of All Time. ("Our Lovin' Place" is an all-time Canadian Country Classic!)
Winner of Awards: Terry is the only male vocalist in Canadian history to win the prestigious "Canadian Open" three consecutive years running. ACM Nominee: His "Midnight Invitation" album was nominated by the Academy of Country Music for album and single of the year. "Midnight Invitation" was also chosen album of the year by Country Music News, which is a fan-voted award.
Command Performer Always: The setting or type of venue has no bearing on the quality and professionalism of Terry Sumsion's command performance. Terry's big baritone voice, so powerful yet so mellow-smooth, reaches out and earnestly touches his audience.

Bio

Terry Sumsion is a Canadian Country Music legend. He’s had a string of country hits over the years, with his rich baritone voice and a classic "Country" approach to singing.

Terry’s popularity in traditional Country Music circles is as strong as ever. He connects with his audience like few others.

He has toured with George Jones and Merle Haggard, among many others.

Terry proudly fronted one of Canada’s premier bands, Stagecoach, throughout the 1980s and 1990s. He was a Juno and CCMA nominee many times.

Recently he formed a trio that features Terry on vocals and acoustic guitar, Dobro and Steel guitar player Doug Johnson, and bassist/multi-instrumentalist Dwayne Friesen.

Terry has become an advocate for Esophageal Cancer awareness. He is currently enjoying his recovery from a successful battle with that disease.

Terry Sumsion is working on a new single, and a new album, and planning a tour across Canada for the spring of 2009.
