"Feedback from the music industry"

Billboard Songwriting Contest comments on "Happy Valley Folks:"
"Lots of great crisp sounds. Very raw and real. Nice work. "

"I listened to 'Happy Valley Folks'. I wanted to comment on your fine work. First, thank you for submitting the song. I enjoyed listening to it here this morning.
Secondly, it the song title is very good and definitely a hook in itself. The vocals are delivered with a strong performance and you really feel completely enveloped in the song. The arrangement is outstanding and really 'paints a picture'. The harmonica really underlines the arrangement. Nice chorus. Just a nice tune. They 'can' play! You are obviously very experienced as it shows in your work . Your EPK is put together nicely and credentials impressive ... I will also keep it in reference for any commercial projects that may come up. Great work and Best Wishes to You!

"Buzz Entertainment Magazine"

Atlantic Beach local, Terry Whitehead has music running through his blood. He grew up listening to his father play guitar and has been singing since he was old enough to talk. In the past, Terry was reluctant to share his
music and songwriting until he started performing at Songwriters’ Night and Acoustic Night in Atlantic Beach. He was encouraged by other musicians to record his songs and began doing just that. After finishing his songs he was able to record with Radical Recording Studios and produce his debut album, Perfect Wave. Perfect Wave features acoustic songs that are influenced by artists like Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and James Taylor. The album offers solo pieces as well as songs collaborated with other multi-instrumentalists including, Andy Burke, Roy Peak and Tamara Grigsby. Terry’s ability to encompass various sounds into his song-writing proves his range and talent. As you listen to the album you will hear sounds ranging from rock, folk, bluegrass, Americana and country. The album has 15 accompanying musicians and vocalists to give listeners variety.
... If you don’t get a chance to hear Terry live, you can download his songs on iTunes or purchase his album in local stores. After listening to a few of Terry’s songs from his CD Perfect Wave, I think you will like what you hear. Add this album to your collection, and cheer on a local artist as he continues to grow musically. - Buzz Entertainment Magazine

Bio

Terry Whitehead’s musical roots run deep. He grew up in Jacksonville, FL, USA listening to his father play guitar; his dad was an accomplished guitarist in the style of Chet Atkins and played in bluegrass, country, and gospel groups on live radio shows long before Terry was born. A picture of one such band inspired Terry's bluegrass-tinged song “Happy Valley Folks.”
Terry himself has been singing since he was old enough to talk. His performing history began with singing in church, for weddings, and collaborations with musician friends inspired by groups like Crosby Still, Nash & Young and the Eagles. His style during this period was in the singer-songwriter's tradition in an acoustic, "unplugged" style, but he would soon enjoy being a lead singer in several rock bands. In recent years he has returned his focus to his acoustic roots and songwriting, but he is able to use the experiences as a lead rock vocalist to add some punch to his acoustic performances.
The songs on his debut recording Perfect Wave are indeed acoustic-based, but they are so varied in style that it is hard to label as a whole. This reflects his love of many genres of music.
Songwriting influences: Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon.
