When choosing a name a band must decide on something that sounds original, something that stands out, and most importantly something that means something. When our band discovered that the word Tessai (teh-SIGH) meant made from iron in Japanese, it was a done deal.
Tessai formed in 2003 out of the ashes of former Roadrunner Records melodic rock band, Twice The Sun. Keyboardist Damian Biltres and bassist Tony Senita remained determined to continue making music together and recruited old friend Alex (Zeus) Garcia to play drums. After a long and extensive search the band was completed with the addition of vocalist Armando Soler and guitarist Alec Romeu a few months later.
Melding influences as diverse as metal, jazz, drum and bass, hardcore, and even classical; Tessais music is heavy and melodic and could mainly be considered hard alternative rock. Comparisons have been made to Evanescence, Incubus and A Perfect Circle.
Tessai hopes to spread its music far and wide in the upcoming year with a continuous schedule of live shows, street team efforts, interviews and showcases. For the most current events, please check the website. www.tessaimusic.com
