"The Vinyl District- Tetish are UK artist of the week"

"Today's popular music takes many different forms and shapes, and the free flowing melodies and apt song structures from Tel Aviv indie power-pop band Tetish are nothing short of commercial brilliance. With their self titled album set to be released, the only way is up for the pop duo". - The Vinyl District

"Premier- "Luck" by Tetish on Clash Magazine"

Tetish essentially revolves around the talents of Etan Salomon and Itai Street.
The Tel Aviv pairing are fascinated by songs and sound, with their material recalling the artful impact of Bat For Lashes, or The Cardigans.
Crisp electronic elements sit alongside pristine indie, with Tetish now plotting their debut full length statement.
Out on July 28th, the self-titled record is preceded by new cut 'Luck'. Immediately beguiling yet difficult to understand completely, the track gets to the heart of the duo's contradictory charm.
Check it out now. - Clash

""Tetish's CMJ debut was nothing short of spectacular""

"Tetish‘ CMJ debut was nothing short of spectacular. Playing at Fat Baby in lower Manhattan, Tetish awed their audience with their powerful vocals and indisputably powerful stage presence. Despite the noise of many people packed into the smaller Manhattan venue Etan‘s voice carried strongly through everyone’s ears so much so that all eye’s were on her for the entire show. Listening with eyes and ears, layers of indie percussion and soulful groovy beats threw the listener back to reminiscent days of an earlier slightly edgier Cardigans. Tetish left the entire room hungering for more! Definitely an artist to keep an eye on" - Cougar Microbes

""Their music has an easy charm and an instant appeal""

"Their music has an easy charm and an instant appeal, It’s neat and unfussy in a classy way, leaning on quality songwriting as opposed to flashy gimmicks or tricks, with Etan Salomon’s voice the key element; she can switch from hushed introspection to power ballad in the blink of an eye, and knows exactly when to do so" - Drowned in Sound

"The duo craft shiny heartfelt pop music"

"The duo craft shiny heartfelt pop music laced with big melodies and underpinned by intricate instrumental rushes. Its a sound ripe with the influence of pop, classical and middle eastern music." - God is in the TV

Bio

Tetish is the brainchild of Etan Salomon and Itai Street. The duo have been active members of the local Tel-Aviv indie music scene for a number years now, both having released material while working on different projects, but it wasn’t until after the long-time friends started to play around with a few ideas towards the end of 2014 that they discovered they were able to take each other’s music to the next level.

18 months on and the pair have achieved a dynamic sound perfectly encapsulated on their debut album, with a medley of influences from pop and rock all the way through to classical and middle eastern music, giving Tetish a deep, rich, complex and ultimately unique sound.

Openers 'Luck' and 'Glow' draw comparison with artists such as Tune-Yards, Lucius and St.Vincent, as well as bands like Rilo Kiley and Jessie Ware, whereas Shipwreck explores the band’s pop/rock leanings and is a nod to influences ranging from The Cardigans to Bat For Lashes.

Salomon explains “the album is about the longing for self-fulfilment, about the struggle between reality and our hopes, dreams and ideals, in life, in art and in relationships.”

Both Salomon (vocals/keyboards) and Street (keyboards/vocals) are classically trained musicians which becomes apparent on the record as they showcase their skills through the quality of their musicianship and arrangements. Their sound is further enhanced by Nir Shlomo (guitars/vocals), Noam Shacham (bass/vocals) and Daniel Azta (drums/vocals) who joined from Street’s previous band Kalbey Ruach and are noted for their session work with bands such as Eatlitz, Brain Candies and Lola Marsh respectively.

Tetish are determined to expose the world to their sound as they attempt to reach and relate to as many people as they possibly can. It’s been a great start for the band as their demos were picked up by some of the biggest local radio stations as well as being selected  for CMW in Toronto, CMJ in New York and this summer’s WOMAD Festival in the UK.

The band is currently finalising the details for an upcoming European tour.
