Feeling a bit camera shy

The concept for Texas Mojo began on May 29th, 2001 on an internet bulletin board where blues fans and musicians shared their love for live blues in Dallas and Ft. Worth. Band members Michael Schaefer and "Cajun" Craig Martin met online and began playing together at the various local blues jams. And it was in this highly charged creative environment that Michael and Craig first began to craft their sound on stage in front of Dallas blues fans.

It was clear from the beginning that Michael's piercing lead vocals and Craig's prowess on the bass were the perfect ingredients for a band that would take the area by storm. So they began to recruit the other necessary cast to make Texas Mojo into a reality. The first acquisition was lead guitar player Scott Lepage. Scott is a long time blues fan from the New Jersey area with an impressive career as a lead guitar and bass player in the vibrant New Jersey music scene. And while he spent his many years honing his chops on hard driving rock and roll, he always had an ear for the blues. With Scott added to the mix, all they needed was a drummer who was versatile enough to tear up the rock tunes, yet subtle enough to throw daggars on the snare on the slow blues. And we found that final piece of the Texas Mojo puzzle in drummer Kevin Billings.
