The Good Kind of Mushroom, the Fort Worth duo, - Adam [Drums & Vocals] and Julian [Guitar]- formed in January of 2015 and released two instrumental EPs. The 15 tracks on the first two EPs are instrumental tracks that consist of only guitar and drums. These instrumental, psychedelic, stoner rock jams are what kicked off The Good Kind of Mushroom’s journey in songwriting. Since then, the 16 and 17 year old boys have been hard at work, evolving their sound in “the studio” and on stage. TGKOM has spent 2016 mastering their live sound and although they are only a two-piece, they put on a damn good show.

“Bapharet Vessel” is the first full album by TGKOM. It was recorded in “The Shroom Room” (aka Adam’s garage). This album takes much conceptual inspiration from Sleep’s “Dopesmoker” and musical inspiration from a wide variety of bands including the Sword and Black Sabbath. The “Bapharet” is a creature created by the boys in The Good Kind of Mushroom which mixes the words tabaret and baphomet. A tabaret, an old percussion instrument made of wood and animal hides, and a baphomet, an ancient pagan idol, combine to create the musical demon, the Bapharet. That creativity and inspiration is what catapults their sense of humor and their love of the genre.
