Biography

Consisting of some of the hardest working musicians in the industry, Thacker Dairy Road blends a unique combination of Americana, Roots and Soul. Focusing primarily on original material with a few choice covers, this quintet delivers dynamic, high-energy performances fronted by Andrea Thorne's rich, soulful vocals. Rebecca White's soaring harmonies and fiddle playing coupled with guitarist Josh Casstevens generate an eclectic range of melodic sounds. Drummer Jonathan McMillan and bassist George Smith make up the infectious rhythm foundation that complete TDR. With members of TDR having played countless music festivals on the east coast and shared stages with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gov't Mule, Marshall Tucker, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Charlie Daniels, Drive By Truckers, DJ Logic, John Popper, Jimmy Herring, Goose Creek Symphony, Larry Keel, Peter Rowan, Donna the Buffalo and many more, anticipation of the band's debut CD is mounting. Having recently finished recording, the album's release is currently slated for January 2009.

STORY SONG

VERSE 1
Unlock the door with the golden key
I see a lady looking at me
She looks like she can’t take another day
She says will you go or are you going to stay

CHORUS
I said, don’t you talk that way, don’t you take that tone
I’ll turn my back around, not afraid to leave you alone.

VERSE 2
We’re not together, we’re not far apart
Can’t see the end don’t remember the start
I’ll drink the water that you gave to me
I’ll have another with you and he makes three

BRIDGE
Take a little time, move a little more
Have a little heart, share a little love
On another day, in another time
With another way, for a little more

VERSE 3
All of the people are close to everything
On top of loving when we dance and why we sing
We make the best of everything we do
It’s not the people; it’s the heart of the few

CHORUS
I said, don’t you talk that way, don’t you take that tone
I’ll turn my back around, not afraid to leave you alone.

GUITAR BREAK
FIDDLE BREAK

BRIDGE
Take a little time, more a little more
Have a little heart, share a little love
On another day in another time
With another way for a little more

KEYBOARD BREAK

BRIDGE
Take a little time, more a little more
Have a little heart, share a little love
On another day in another time
With another way for a little more

VERSE 3A
All of the people are close to everything
On top of loving when we dance and why we sing
We make the best of everything we do
It’s not the people, it’s the heart of the few

CHORUS
I said, don’t you talk that way, don’t you take that tone
I’ll turn my back around, not afraid to leave you alone.

Aleony

Written By: Rebecca White

I’m alone on the road
I’m alone on the road
Carry my own heavy load
I’m alone on the road

I’m alone in the rain
I’m alone in the rain
With a bottle and a name
I’m alone in the rain

So call me up but not tomorrow
Call me up, but not tomorrow
‘Cause I may be in New Orleans
‘cause I may be in New Orleans

Don’t want another pot of gold
Don’t want another pot of gold
Just be here with me when I’m old
Don’t want another pot of gold

Don’t feel like leavin’ but drivin’ isn’t bad
I’m stayin’ home for a while
Got every reason to up and sail again
But you’ve got a little bit of time

I’m my own on the road
I’ve got my own cup of rain
Just setting down this pot of gold
I’ll take your bottle and your name

So call me up but not tomorrow
Call me up, but not tomorrow
‘Cause I may be in New Orleans
‘cause I may be in New Orleans

Golden Trestles

Written By: Rebecca White

Lay me down on golden trestles
Far away from the dusty road
Stay ahead of the fire burning
Hold me down let me go

I will take this anytime you offer
If you’ll meet me underneath the shade
When it’s over I will paint a picture
Of the moment when the devil paid

Chorus
Of the time spent planning for the journey
In the morning when we know we’ve run
Out of the time we needed to recover
Over mountains fading in to sun

In the movie you will play the hero
Dying bravely as the music plays
I will hold you waiting for the ending
Moving on when the screen turns grey

So take the words from all your past confessions
Turn them in to what you want to be
All the hours will sew together neatly
All your days have an end you see.
