As early as elementary school three friends shared the same common passion for rap music and that interest motivated them to create there own music rap group once known as The Lost Soul's. Boogy, Dough $ Boy & M16 were the three founding members of the organization we know today as Tha District Boyz. The three guy's would graduate from elementary school and move on to continue their education to further their music careers. As the guy's progressed in school Tha District Boyz would change and new faces were added to the fold. Johnnie B would join The Lost Soul's.

As the group took form they knew they wanted to record but with no studio or studio equipment the guy's started using the sound recorder and acid pro 4.0, on the computers in their homes. The guy's would record and create music using created beats of M16 and industry beats as well as from various internet sources. The music created started to spark the interest of family and friends and would keep the guy's motivated. The group created their myspace page and would come to learn there was already a group with the name The Lost Soul's. The guy's knew a new name was needed. With a lot of thinking and their determination to put DC on the map they created the name of Tha District Boyz.
