Bio

Thanasi is best known for his creative talents with a pen, his soft tenor voice and his soulful harmonies. Growing up in Toronto, Thanasi was inspired by the soothing sounds of Boys II men, Stevie Wonder, Babyface, Nat King Cole and a variety of other artists and musical genres which he encountered and learned from along the way.

Born in Athens, Greece, Thanasi had been fascinated by music since he was a young child. At the tender age of seven, he took his first musical lessons studying classical guitar. By the age of ten, Thanasi and his family moved to Canada after his parents separation. This move and his parents eventual divorce were devastating for him, since he is a strong believer in family and its importance in creating true stability in one's life.

The changes that occurred in his life, however, helped him mature and his music became a catalyst for expressing his emotions. At the age of fifteen, Thanasi founded his first band, Croak. It was an Alternative group which was led by him. He wrote all the music, he was the band leader and he was also the lead vocalist/guitarist.

Two years later, the group decided to go their separate ways since interest and dedication weakened over time. Thanasi's passion for music never faltered however, and he continued to write and perform. That same year, he met a Latin vocalist, Jorge Santizo. The two instantly connected and began to write and perform ballads throughout the city.

After High School, Thanasi enrolled in the music program at Humber College but decided to take time off from his studies to pursue and record his Demo EP titled In Time. He wrote all of the tracks on the album and multi-instrumentalist Esteban Carvallo aided him in arranging and producing his music. After the completion of In Time, Thanasi decided to continue his studies in music.

He enrolled in York University's Honors Bachelor of Fine Arts Program majoring in Vocal Music and Performance.

In April 2008 Thanasi completed his studies at York university graduating with Honors.
