Thanks, Goodbye started out as the brainchild of the singer Aggi Fridbertsson in the beginning of 2011. The band grew fast after the guitarist Sæmi Thordarsson and the synth/guitar player K. Gilbert joined . Only two months past with the new members on board until they got their first gig (with only one song completely written 'You Know It Better Than I Do') and the gig wasn't anything small. The gig was between acts in the Miss Reykjavik beauty contest.
It was in front of approx. 600 live audience and streamed live on national TV.
After their first performance the guys decided to focus on writing new songs.In the beginning of summer 2011 a lot of demos had been written, including 'This One Last Time' which they released online and got them a lot of new listeners all around the world.
In the beginning of July 2011, Aggi decided to make a song totally different from what they had been doing and 'Song For You' was created. A week after being recorded they released it online.
With their ambitious networking they got lots of plays and great feedback right away.
Now, their main goal is to prepare themselves for gigs in the upcoming months as they are also hoping to release an EP before the end of the year.
"From the first minute I sat down with these guys I've had a great feeling about this project. The world is getting tighter every day due to networking, so we are going to use that as much as we can. To get our music out there and make friends" -Aggi says about the band.
