The Promise

Cameron'Tha Promise' Florence was born on Nov.13, 1984 to Angela Florence and Travis Smith. With roots that draw from Jackson, Mississippi, and New Orleans. Growing up in the city of Denver Colorado was always a challege for him. Never being excepted by the world, at school or by his peers he turned to the streets. Running with gangs he would come to find his place of love and respect. But he soon came to find out that, this life was not the way to live. This is when he came to know rap at the age of 12 years old and learn that this was a gift that God had given him. "I can remember sitting in the living room and starting with the bubble gum rapps" lol. He began mastering the art of rhyming, studying the dictory and many other books to gain a better vocabulary. He was sucessful in the process. Making more then three albums locally and one that would make it into the hands of Ice Cube. Yet and still there was something that was missing in his life. In the year of 2003 after the death of his grandmother and before being sign to Warner Bro. Records, he came to give his life to Christ. Laying the mic down to follow this new found love that he had received. Called to preach at the age of 21 he began to see the state of the church youth. Knowing that they had been falling by the way side he began to build a ministry known as THE PROMISE LAND. Getting the youth in the church more invovled and the ones that were outside in. But something was still missing, and knowing what it was, August 15, 2008 is when he decide to start back with the gift that God had blessed him with. With the new album titled "Lifes Rendition",set to drop March 2010, it is to be another chapter in the life of this young man of God. "My goal in this life is to do everything that pleases Gods eyes. Walking the way that he wants me to walk. Talking and acting they way that he wants me to as well. But not only me, but those that are around me. Those that dont know christ, those that have a zeal but deny the power. That is who I want to reach. Jesus said that it is not the well that need a doctor, but the sick, adults and youth alike. We need to bridge the gap between us, the older church and the world".
