Reed

The names Reed and if i can describe my music in one word "indescribable". Im very influenced by older music not even necessarily hip hop but all fasits of music. Al Green, Tpain, Smokey Robinson, Kanye West, Jay Z. They all have some part in how i approach my own music. Whether it be beat selection, composition of an album or flow, its all rooted and different branches of music to come together to make...Reed. I grew up in a small town one hour west of Houston, Tx there are so many people that want to branch out musically but cant because of our geography. I never let my surroundings restrain who i was as an artist, i started freestyling on beats with friends at 13 but always had the passion for writing. I really didnt take hip hop seriously until my freshman year of college where i molded my sound and dug deeper into the actual history of hip hop, i started seeing that this could be a career in '07 so with the help of a personal friend i layed my first mixtape "Destined For Greatness". And i have been doing showcases and posting videos every since hoping that i could atleast have a chance at this dream of mine.
