Young lust, dope and rock & roll. The fleeting bubble of youth captured in 3 minutes. Lost love, late nights, suburban ennui. Colouring in the spaces between the grey and black. An adventure to find peace. Finding altered states instead.
Everyone who sees the Almighty Rhombus play seems to have a different favourite song. This is likely due to a combination of frontman Mike Kenny's smooth voice and captivating melodies, and the band's relentless attitude toward song craft. The band has a very diverse sonic palette, and are adept at executing pristine, glassy pop, deploying serpentine instrumental interplay and exuding raw garage power.
Three of the five members of the band are brothers, which gives the Almighty Rhombus a solid foundation built on family and direct honesty. Everyone in the band has known each other for years, and the foundational friendships on which the band is built allow them to create music in an intensely collaborative manner.
The Almighty Rhombus has released a self-titled EP thus far, performed at festivals around Northern Ontario, and has amassed a large following in their hometown of Sudbury, Ontario. Building on the momentum of their EP, they will be releasing their debut full-length, Lucid Living, in May on Cosmic Dave's Record Factory.
