With a focus on presenting groove music of the highest quality, The Amani Consorts world class songwriting, blends elements of funk, soul, jazz & hip hop
Aysha Amani fronts the band with a powerful vocal and strong presence, which is truly engaging. Colosoul magazine described Amani as:
A fierce woman on-stage; a bit of Jill Scott, old-school, but entirely a woman of soul.

This versatile vocalist (who has performed at festivals such as Southbound and Hyperfest) has developed her own unique style, seamlessly blending soulful vocals with conscious rhymes, making her live performances both entertaining and thought provoking. The groups instrumentalists (Alex Borthwick-Guitar, James Claringbold -Bass, Bronton Ainsworth-drums, Gordon Cant-Keys) perform at an exceptionally high level and are obviously talented individuals, which is quickly earning the group a reputation as one of Australias finest up-and-coming acts.
The Amani Consorts rave reviews are paving the way for the release of their debut EP Better Way on May 25th. The Better Way EP Draws Influences from artists such as Eryka Badu, Lauren Hill, Dangelo and The Roots. Recorded at Stax Studios, The Amani Consorts debut release was mixed by Sam Cutri and mastered at studio 301 by Steve Smart.
The Amani consort have been impressing sell out crowds while supporting Lee Feilds and the Expressions(USA), Sneaky Sound system (UK) and Tijuana Cartel, wowing audiences at RTRFMs Seriously Sound System,and most recently blowing people away at Beaufort st festival Festival.The Amani Consorts amazing live shows are making them one of the hottest acts in town.
