"The Atomic Spins @ 88Nine Radio Milwaukee"

Radio Milwaukee welcomed The Atomic Spins to a 414 Session on this first day of spring, which I may add the odds were in our favor. Ladies and Gentleman the Atomic Spins starring Jeffery Miller, Jason Dove, Aaron Fasting and Stephen DeLassus is that caffeine high you needed this afternoon. They bought an electrifying rock and roll vibe into the studio. A bit of history never hurts the present and what better day to be on live then on their anniversary week. What adventures are these four charismatic dudes up to? (Besides rocking your afternoon) Good thing you ask, they will be performing THIS weekend at the Equinox Music Festival at Lineman’s in Riverwest. Be sure to check your Facebook events and mark your calendars this is a show you do not want to miss. [flickr-photoset:id=72157642656559615,size=m] - Tarik Moody

"The Atomic Spins Tap the Tougher Side of College Rock"

It sometimes feels like it’s been written out of history, but there was a moment in the late ’80s when college rock sounded tough, marked by sharp guitars, hard drums, beefy production and a general sense of bluster. It may not have been as macho as the hard rock of the time, but it was a far cry from the ultra-sensitive indie-rock that dominates today. On their debut self-titled EP, Milwaukee rockers The Atomic Spins capture that brief window when it seemed like R.E.M. was a band that could reasonably take you in a bar fight. Nobody will mistake it for metal, but it’s got that same sense of spirited resistance that Hüsker Dü and early Soul Asylum records had.

The group released the EP earlier this month with a show at Kochanski’s. You can stream it below, Via Bandcamp. - Evan Rytlewski

"The Atomic Spins to perform Feb. 27 at Peet Center"

Miller and his group of seasoned musicians, The Atomic Spins, bring their original music to where it’s influenced from. The group will perform at the Peet Community Center on N. Saginaw St. in downtown Chesaning.

An alternative to pop, the group’s original songwriting spins hyper-manic experiences that are packed with the passion of beatnik writers, the soul of the Mississippi Delta, and the power of Rock and Roll. Explosive guitars, valiant bass grooves and eclectic percussive beats conspire to create their own signature sound.

Currently playing shows throughout the Midwest (Chicago on Feb. 25 and Detroit on Feb. 26,), the band will also be performing at the South By Southwest Music Conference in Austin, Texas. These shows will be in support of the successfully crowd-funded debut EP, and the two singles being released at the Equinox Music Festival on March 12 in Milwaukee, Wis.

Pulling influences from classics Led Zepplin, Santana, and Rush, more modern rockers Queens of the Stone Age, Smashing Pumpkins, and The Hold Steady, The Atomic Spins pens its songs with full collaboration.

“This show will give me a chance to thank everyone that has supported us, and my musical career all along the way,” said Miller. “We’re very excited to share the live show experience with family, friends, and folks I grew up with. Equally as cool is that we get to share the stage with other Chesaning musicians and hear their music up close and personal.”

Also on the bill that evening are Chesaning natives The Rupple Brothers, who blend honest wisps of folk with an air of psychedelia, to craft a musical space the likes of which can only be found in few, far corners of the universe.

Opening the evening will be local favorite Zachary James. - Tri-County Citizen

Still working on that hot first release.
