The Band Sweeney

Sweeney is a high-powered live Funk/Soul band out of Bloomington, IN. Expertly blending elements of Funk, R&B/Soul, and Pop, Sweeney delivers a live experience that will keep you up and moving from the first downbeat.

Since forming in the summer of 2013, Sweeney has entertained a rotating cast of some of Bloomington’s finest musicians. From humble beginnings as a power trio, the band has since evolved into a robust six-piece lineup, featuring a powerfully soulful vocal-duo (Meg Shedlak and Troy Thomas), ripping guitar riffs and solos (Mike Paik), thumping bass-lines (Stefan Lenthe), melodic synth/keyboard arrangements (Dylan Barnett), and infectious, in-the-pocket drum grooves (Lex Lindsey).

Currently cutting their teeth in the thriving local music scene of Bloomington and Indiana at-large, Sweeney has brought together a fan base that is incredibly loyal and ever growing. Paying homage to the funk forefathers of the past while pressing full steam ahead toward the future, they are sure to leave you awestruck and craving more.
