Band Biography

With a style similar to Coldplay, OneRepublic, and U2, The Civics are a newly formed Alternative Rock band hoping to grab the world’s attention through their inspirational music. The Cincinnati based artist intends to write, record, and perform original songs that capture the audience’s attention based on the depths of their lyrics, and the intricacy of their music. 

This five-piece band met while volunteering on their local church’s worship team. They all shared a passion and enthusiasm for changing the world through music. Lead vocalist, Drew Schueler, writes his music to inspire other people about the future. “It’s essential to live completely in the moment with certainty that there’s a promise for tomorrow,” Schueler says. 

The Civics’ first single, “Been All Over” was self-produced and recorded in the summer of 2014. Just a few weeks after the release, “Been All Over” was discovered and played on Salford City Radio in England and received great response. Bassist Anthony Vorndran says, “It was extremely flattering and humbling to have recorded our first single and within two weeks we made a radio debut in Manchester England. It is keeping us motivated to keep working hard towards our goals.” 

The Civics just released their new E.P. "Through the Noise" on Nov. 4, 2014 and have kept the momentum growing. When asked to describe the project, Schueler responds, “The songs on this EP have much more than just a surface level meaning. I want the listeners to dissect each lyric and discover what it means to them.” 

“Through our music we intend to remind people of the power that a glimmer of hope can have,” Schueler says. “We want to help people get through life more easily, and to take time to appreciate the beauty of the world around us.”
