Bio

Although its members hail from all across South-Western Ontario, The Conservation Authority was conceived in Hamilton in the hopes of bringing a fresh take on old sounds. Originally formed as a duo of childhood friends Dean Labute and Graeme Wood, TCA has evolved into a 6-piece band featuring tight multi-part harmonies dancing over a powerful rhythm section. Its members come from a wide variety of backgrounds and bring these diverse tastes, styles, and experiences to each song and performance. Formed in 2009, The Conservation Authority has shared the stage with a wide range of musicians from up and coming acts like Dawn and Marra and The Strumbellas to Canadian music fixtures like Cuff the Duke and Jason Collett. Their first EP, Beneath the Trees, was released independently in November of 2011, and they are currently recording material for a new album to be released in the fall of 2014.
