The Curious Incident

The Curious Incident

 London, England, GBR
BandRockIndie

The Curious Incident and their 'Caribbean Twist' Pop/Rock is Tarzan swinging from the jungle vines of RHCP, The Kooks and Vampire Weekend.

It's Pop/Rock with a Caribbean Twist that tastes like Jerk Chicken and Lemonade and makes your troubles melt away".

"Kai is the lovechild of Steven Tyler and Rambo...or Tarzan with moves like Jagger"
"An explosive performance - an absolutely must-see live act. Brilliant."

Biography

>>> “It’s hard to take a bow if you’re not willing to bend”

The Curious Incident is a mixed bag band of foreigners based in London. They started off experimenting with worldly sounds and has settled into their Pop/Rock with a Caribbean Twist. They've racked up frenetic live shows in London at venues such as Barfly, The Borderline, IndigO2, 100 Club, and Proud Camden as well as supporting diverse bands such as The Zombies and Die Antwoord.

Further adventures consisted of them independently touring South Africa, Switzerland and Canada including festival slots at Oppikoppi, Caprices Fest & Canadian Music Festival.

The band has now narrowed their focus, taking the best of their experimentation and contemporary influences, packaging it with enough mainstream appeal whilst boiling over their energetic performances.

Recommended if you like: UB40, RHCP, The Kooks, Crystal Fighters and Vampire Weekend (and being cooked for without having to clean up afterwards)

Lyrics

Impostor

Written By: Kyle Verhagen-Roberts

My hands they hurt
From all this meaningless work
I endure, to secure
My position on this Earth

I feel so justifiably calm
As the rain comes crashing down

CHORUS
I feel so justifiably calm
As the rain comes crashing down
Your eyes are my disguise
I am an impostor
Your eyes are my disguise
I am an impostor

My face is not what it used to be
I try justify, rationalise what it means to me
I pull the wool over your eyes
A wolf's prize for a shepherd's disguise
A shepherd's disguise

CHORUS
I feel so justifiably calm
As the rain comes crashing down
Your eyes are my disguise
I am an impostor
Your eyes are my disguise
I am an impostor

As the sheep I ate the sheep
As the shepherd I ate the shepherd
As the wolf I ate the wolf
As the leopard I ate the leopard

CHORUS
I feel so justifiably calm
As the rain comes crashing down
Your eyes are my disguise
I am an impostor
Your eyes are my disguise
I am an impostor

Diane

Written By: Kyle Verhagen-Roberts

Diane
I sent her an email
And used technology to see if she opened it
Would Elvis approve?
He sent his ‘Return To Sender’ but nothing came back
Unlucky man

Staring at the back of her head for years
Everyday in class
Building up the courage to
Suck it up and ask
Would she go with me?
Would she go with me?

Now it’s 10 years later and I’m calling my wife…
Diane

Chorus
This school time crush
Is meant to last
Won’t let her go
As we grow old
Diane

I knew from the start
She’d keep her girlish charming ways throughout old age
She’s a prize I can’t lose
I was scared to follow through
But I’d already planned my wedding with you

Chorus
You know I won’t
Let her go

No, won’t let her go
When she breathes my lungs inflate
Baby, baby please
The women I love is the women I need
The girl I’ve loved since I was 16

Chorus
Diane

Money

Written By: Kyle Verhagen-Roberts

Aloe Blacc
He told me that
He needs just a dollar to get by
Yeah that'd be nice
But I wouldn't mind
Having a trust fund on the side

(Prechorus)
I'm not hopeless I am hopeful
I've got a penny in my pocket but it's lonesome
Making music, writing songs
So my penny doesn't have to be alone

Money
Takes money to make

Mulalalalalala

Sam Smith said
He don't have
Money on his mind
But I do, and you do
And that's human

(Prechorus)

Chorus

Buying bread with collected pence
Busking to pay my rent
With cents from the 1 percent

Mulalala

Chorus
