"Best Of 2019"

Robert Goodman of Forbidden Planet Radio chooses the upcoming, unreleased single "LOST" by The Dog Apollo for his Top Songs of 2019. "LOST" is set for release in March 2020. - Forbidden Planet Radio

"Last Orbit (Single Review)"

EXCERPT: The vocals are hearty and the sound is electric and gripping throughout. The track reminded me very much of the style of Catfish and the Bottlemen with their use of plentiful hooks and energy. However, this song takes a different stance than their previous work such as a personal favourite of mine, ‘Pile Driver’ which embodies a stronger pop synth sound.

The chiming riffs of the song combined with the hearty exuberant guitar passage gives it an exciting dynamic. The Dog Apollo boys are destined for a successful future and they have already been chosen to play with the likes of Bloc Party, Foals and Alt J.I personally adore this song and would definitely recommend anyone to give it a listen. - XUNE

"The Dog Apollo at Will's Pub"

"Speaking of the lifeblood that small venues provide, the tips I'd received about the Dog Apollo (Aug. 28, Will's Pub) turned out to be justified, and then some. The Jacksonville band does a sunnier take on stately, Brit-influenced, early-millennial indie rock. Their well-crafted, heart-rich music is sonorous, ringing and romantic." - Bao Le-Huu - Orlando Weekly

"Hounding For More"

EXCERPT: “The goal is to get this thing up and running on our own and less about getting signed and being a slave to a label." - EU

"LOCAL LOOKOUT"

EXCERPT: "The Dog Apollo is always looking to continue expanding their fan base, and with so many performances racking up at several of Duval’s most popular venues, the group said they are ready to branch out and begin playing all over the state. Recently in Orlando, The Dog Apollo opened up for British-indie rock group Bloc Party, which was the band’s biggest show to date. The group said they performed exclusively alongside Bloc Party in front of over 1000 people during their set." - Void

Bio

Still in the infant stages of their career, The Dog Apollo has already opened for the likes of Bloc Party, Crocodiles, Foals, Weezer, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Cage The Elephant, Silversun Pickups, Psychedelic Furs, Black Kids, Young The Giant, Bear Hands and Alt-J. Built on a strong foundation of anthemic hooks and DIY ethics their debut full-length (2018) meets at a midpoint between classic Indie-Rock and Brit-Pop. Influenced by more than music, frontman Chris Rudasill's distinctive vocals and strong vernacular have drawn comparisons to that of Mac McCaughan, Robert Smith and Ian Curtis. If you gravitate toward new music that has you singing along by verse two -TDA has you covered in spades. On the contrary, you will happily listen to the complexity of "Slow Burn" or "I, Miner" a dozen times before you get it right.

-Chris Rudasill, Joel Bernkrant, David Johns & Daniel Johns.
