Bio

The winners of the Fryderyk Award, the most important award in Polish music industry, in the category of “Debut of the Year” in 2014.
Modern electronica soaked with deep bass. Emotional intensiveness channeled through the lyrics which describe the microcosm of human relations from the perspective of the youth. The dance sadness, catchy melodies and the denial of stardom are all important elements for The Dumplings’ identity. Justyna Święs (vocals and lyrics) and Kuba Karaś (music and lyrics) have proved that they can speak their own voice without any spare compromises.
The Dumplings’ brilliant debut in 2013 attracted the attention of the biggest record labels in Poland. In a month they had gathered 13,000 fans on Facebook (now there are over 62,000). The Internet fame triggered the band’s touring - The Dumplings have performed 115 shows since September 2013.
The release of “No Bad Days” (13th May 2014) coincided with live shows in England at the festivals Liverpool Sound City and The Great Escape in both Brighton and London. The album was supported by concerts throughout the summer and fall of 2014 (at OFF Festival in Katowice, Slovakia’s Grape Festival, and United Island in Prague among others).
In 2015 the band promoted their music abroad. They played a gig in Paris as a part of a series of events called Polish Fashion Now; in Mexico as a part of Short Waves film festival; and a compact tour in Japan which consisted of 4 shows in Tokyo. The Dumplings’ debut album appeared in many rankings for the album of the year 2014 (including the fourth place in Gazeta Wyborcza’s writers choice).
At a very well received show at Open’er Festival 2015 (15,000 people gathered at the Tent Stage) The Dumplings premiered new songs which are going to be released on the band’s second album “Sea You Later”. The release date is set for 13th November 2015!
