the dust and the screaming

we are a band that merits comparisons to genres like alt-rock, singer-songwriter, folk, prog, and indie, without letting the definitions dictate our sound.
we are influenced by artists such as radiohead (bends-era especially), coheed and cambria, tool, nine inch nails, our lady peace, dave matthews band, and many other bands — all of which we sound nothing like.

and if you're wondering, our band name is taken from the lyrics of radiohead's "paranoid android." it's a great tune, plus the collected words the dust and the screaming suggest a balance between the delicate and the bold, or perhaps reference the aftermath of a tragedy, or maybe even none of these things. how are we to know?
