Bio
The Fifth Estate started as The D-Men in 1964. Under that name they released a number of songs under the Veep (United Artists) Label and appeared on the nationally televised "Hullabaloo" music variety show. They also had national releases under Kapp Records and Red Bird Records.
In 1966, with the same personnel, the group name was changed to The Fifth Estate. In 1967 they hit the charts big with "Ding, Dong! The Witch Is Dead", touring the United States as a headline act and later with the Gene Pitney Tour.
For the new millennium, the group has recreated their live act, performing all the favorites from their original 60's recordings and covers from the era, combined with songs from their latest releases. Their shaking, vibrating, exploding blend of early original recordings and new retro rockers from their latest album ”Take the Fifth” seasoned with nuggets from the Yardbirds and Stones will satisfy your inner most cravings for the ultimate groovy musical high!
