Only the Madison Wisconsin-bred band “The Flavor That Kills” could pull off a song with the Title A Million Billion Stars. It might have something to do with the weather, it might have something to do with the east coast influence, or maybe it has nothing at all to do with the geographical location, and everything to do with the main songwriter Ryan James Cocoran. Ryan was born and raised in Wisconsin and started hunting Quail at the age of 2. TFTK's represents everything you could hope for at a dirty local bar, late night house party, or your 20th high school reunion. The band members Farren Jecky, guitar; Christian Burnsome, Bass; and Eric Hartz, drummer, are known for their experience as salmon fishermen on lake Michigan. Together, they hope to ride a success wave as big as the infamous Jaws in Maui while showing no signs of growing up or slowing down. Their new album Nevermind the Acorns, has a hidden code on the full version of the album, and it's not a Set Up. The band is currently building a live following by performances that include bunny rabbits, mechanics, chipmunks, fair trade weasels, and daddy long leg spiders. It’s an event any drunken homeless person or parking enforcement agent would die for. “The Flavor That Kills,” name comes from a van breakdown in Tulsa,OK where the shop owner said, “I have some good Chili if you want some, but the Flavor might kill you (Ryan only wound up in the Hospital).
