"The Foresters (CT) Release New Single: "Machines""

Today, Bethany, CT's (yes, I had to look it up on Google Maps too) The Foresters released their latest single, "Machines", off of their upcoming record Sun Songs. The track starts off with a guitar riff reminiscent of Queens of the Stone Age, before launching into more of a dance-rock tune for the remainder of the song. "Machines" carries an intense energy thorughout its duration, compelling the listener to grab a tambourine and join in the dance party. The group have a string of dates booked throughout July (mostly in CT), but hopefully they'll consider a couple of shows further north.

"Love at First Listen… The Foresters"

It is so rare that I start a playlist of an artist for the first time and immediately decide I love it. I’m impulsive in many other areas of life, but not when it comes to music. It never fails that when that feeling hits me, it turns out to be true and The Foresters delivered.

The Foresters are a cherry bomb full of fun, raw rock n roll meets original pop grooves. When I say pop, think the origins of pop, bands like The Beatles and Cheap Trick. Their rock n’ roll influences seem to come from the same regions, as well as 90’s bands like Weezer, Lit and Blind Melon. I knew nothing of the band when I listened through their entire playlist and fell in love. When I started researching them, I discovered they’re impressive beyond their years, and this made me more intrigued and a bigger fan.

The Foresters, from Bethany, CT, consists of 3 brothers, ages 12, 13 and 14. They’ve already been hitting the indie music scene hard for 3 years on the East Coast, and have been recognized with awards like Boston’s Music Box Pete 2012 Artist of the Year and the 2014 CXCW Hope for the Future Award. It is no surprise that they have Twitter followers such as The NAMM Show and ANTI-Records (Dr. Dog, Wilco, The Black Keys), because their a sound for any alt pop rocker to go gaga for and deserve to be heard.

Right away, I thought this is the perfect band for summer. Sunshine, all night rock jams, friends, the beach – all these scenarios have the perfect soundtrack with The Foresters. Guitar driven songs with grungy, bright tones and lo-fi recording techniques give the band a unique flavor and classic feel. Loose harmonies, and anthem like melodies make for fun sing alongs. Lyrically, the band is innocent and insightful simultaneously. After discovering the band’s age, it doesn’t surprise me. I’ve always found that talented teen songwriters are the most insightful, and I think its due to the untainted eyes they still have on the world. At that age, you can still see through the bullshit. When I look back on songs I wrote at 13 and 14, some of the lyrics blow me away and I wrote them. So unfiltered yet projected in a beautiful way. This is what I hear in The Foresters.

They are diverse and talented musicians, utilizing lots of guitars, good electric tones and effects, nice acoustics, intelligent chord changes, and also incorporating synths and keys in a tasteful way. Go listen to this band and thank me later for finding you the perfect alt pop rock playlist for your summer! Check them out on SoundCloud, Facebook and Twitter, and of course their official website www.theforesters.us - Indie Habit

"Scribblers Music Review"

The Foresters, “Swan Jeremy.” The Foresters have a brand new album, Sun Songs, out this month, and all of it is good. But I want to concentrate on this single song, as it’s been my binge-listen for the past few days and I keep playing it over and over and over. At 3 minutes 25 seconds, “Swan Jeremy” is not long yet sounds epic—a psychedelic garage rock swirl that would not be out of place on a ‘60s Nuggets-style comp. It’s got all the ingredients of a mesmerizer by Arthur Lee’s Love or Syd Barrett’s Pink Floyd: a fuzzily memorable opening riff, ethereal vocals, lyrics about longing and doubt (“Everything we know is in freefall”), languorous pauses, a winding sliding guitar solo, a general sense of darkness and meditation. “Swan Jeremy” (named after a curious cat-related Tweet by Kimya Dawson of Moldy Peaches) is technically upbeat and rocking and jangling, yet has an incredible mellowness in its make-up. It’s a remarkable number, hard to resist yet as free-floating as a dream. - Scribblers.us

"Exclusive Premiere> The Foresters NEW Single 'Machines' from upcoming album Sun Songs"

We've long been following this band, the three brothers from Connecticut were founded in 2010 when they were eleven, nine, and seven, When they made their debut in 2013 at the Couch by Couchwest Festival, the staff appropriated them as their own and they lit up the festival as attendees far and wide sung their praise. Returning for the next three years they shared a continued growth and maturity with an enthusiastic audience, earning a coveted CXCW Blue Ribbon There is Hope for the Future Award.

The Foresters continue to deliver outstanding modern Rock n Roll, Building on the past with fresh ears, eyes and unbridled talent. Even at their age this will be the last time I reference them as a young band they've established themselves as a force to be reckoned with, in their home state, and beyond.
Seasoned, sophisticated music writing, mad musical skills they've plowed through pop, punk, rock and experimental on past records developing a style and sound uniquely their own.
Their NEW Album 'Sun Songs' scheduled for worldwide release on July 21st finds the trio at the top of their game (so far) apparently they are only limited by their own imagination and drive.

The album is available for pre-order through the Dord Music Group and digitally via Bandcamp
The record release show on July 18th will be a celebration of all the hard work and creativity that went into making the album a reality. All proceeds from tickets sold will be donated directly to Lyric Hall, helping the venue continue to support the thriving New Haven arts community. In addition to The Foresters, the lineup features Connecticut Music Award “Best New Band” finalists, l o o m, and Batkhi Dahn. There will be advanced copies of the album and limited edition commemorative posters exclusively at the show. Anyone who wants the latest and greatest is invited join the party! Presale tickets, including a discounted bundle, are available now

The second single from the record 'Machine' drops tomorrow June 16th but I'm proud to be able to present it here for your listening pleasure.

'Machines', hard driven by thick bass, wickedly wild drum flourishes and tight harmonies and vocals, will have you bouncing in your seat, or Jimmie jumping up and down and singing along, a perfect summer blasting down the highway song. The ear-worm on this one is strong. - Popa Tunes

"New Haven Based The Foresters Re-Release "Afternoon" Ahead of New Album 'Sun Songs'"

Based out of New Haven, CT The Foresters are gearing up for the forthcoming release of their new album Sun Songs with a re-release of their single, "Afternoon". Check out the vid for the song directly above, shot at a home near Branford, CT that was designed by the famous Yale architect Tom Luckey who constructed the house around a massive boulder. These guys are no stranger to the site, as they picked up the Artist Spotlight of the Year Award back in 2012, and have been featured numerous times in the form of feature articles and reviews detailing the band's unique and melodic form of indie rock that hits the spot just right, and proves that these guys have serious talent. It's been a blast watching these guys develop, and it makes me feel good to not call them a bunch of kids anymore as they've clearly grown in musical maturity and have shown that they possess the chops to take it to the next level in their musical careers.

Keep on the lookout for their new album, "Sun Songs" later on this summer, and for more on The Foresters you can 'Like' them on Facebook right over here and check out their sweet looking official homepage at this locale here. - Musicbox Pete

"CMJ Chart Discovery - Sun Songs by The Foresters"

Choppy and abrupt, the Foresters are catchy in a fantastic way. Upon some scrounging around the band’s Facebook, it’s tough to tell just how old these seemingly very young men are, but their music leads one to believe they could pass for well-seasoned musicians who have been playing clubs for a while. Don’t miss “Machines” and “Swan Jeremy” when you give this a first listen. - CMJ

Bio

The three Nork brothers makeup Connecticut indie rock group The Foresters. With Evan taking the lead on vocals and guitar, Hayden providing harmonies and bass, and Liam keeping the beat on the drums, The Foresters have made a name for themselves playing shows throughout the Northeast.

Founded in 2010 when the members were eleven, nine, and seven, the band has seen much growth on a personal as well as musical level and writes songs at a level well beyond their years. With the experience of two major releases under their belts, having progressed through pop punk, and brought in new influences, The Foresters are gearing up for summer 2015, which will see their strongest release to date.

The likes of Built To Spill, The Shins, and The Flaming Lips have served as inspiration for The Foresters and played a role in the formation of a new sound. Their youthful energy translates into their live show and allows them to connect with audiences of all ages. And with over four years performing, the three brothers are totally in sync with each other.

Awards include Deli Magazine Artist of The Month (July 2015), the 2014 CXCW Hope For The Future Award, 2012 Music Box Pete Artist of the Year, as well as winner and runner up for the Norwalk Stepping Stones and Trackside “Battles of the Bandsâ€? respectively. The band consistently has shows lined up from small rooms to festivals with audiences of thousands, in addition to innovating by playing live Internet concerts for audiences around the world.
