New Orleans Jazz with a Chicago Twist!
The High Hat Second Line is a high-energy, 5 piece traditional New Orleans brass band in the vein of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and Professor Longhair, amongst many others. From 1920's Jazz to the bombastic beats of Rebirth Brass Band, the current members of High-Hat Second Line are veterans of some of the best Midwest brass bands and jazz groups.
Founded as the house band for the High Hat Club in the North Center neighborhood the High Hat Second Line held a Tuesday night residency for 2 years. The High Hat Second Line has been accompaniment for the Wiggle Room Burlesque Troupe at City Winery and the Soho House. The High Hat Second Line are available for private events including weddings, cocktail hours, Mardi Gras parties, house parties, birthdays, crawfish boils, and even the occasional funeral! The High Hat Second Line regularly gigs at Chicago area bars like Simon's in Andersonville, Nick’s Beer Garden in Wicker Park, Reggie’s on the South Side, and Honky Tonk BBQ in Pilsen.
The High Hat Second Line will transport you to Bourbon Street without having to leave Chicago!
