Bio
There is a place in the mountainous ice topped forests of Wales where, under the ice, there live people. They are called The Irascibles AKA Phil Moxham, legendary bassist of Cardiff heart throbs Young Marble
Giants, singer songwriter Nick Lewis and drummer Drew Moxham [also YMG] and this is their music.
Their unique ‘bluesabilly’ sound is a heady mix of delta blues, post-punk,rockabilly and British beat, with a few Afro grooves thrown in.
“There is such a profound love for what we might loosely term rock n roll music writ subtly in every moment of their set: Hank Williams, Sun Records, Wilko Johnson, John Lee Hooker, David Lynch. ... But it never sounds like a history lesson. Just a jumble sale rustle through garments left so long in the attic that they look, well sound, like the future.” Adam Walton BBC Wales
They are completing their album "Icarus rising " as you read this…….
