The Kid Lickies

The Kid Lickies are an Indie Rock band native to Windsor ontario. Lead singer and songwriter Shane Owchar has been writing and performing original music since the age of 14. Influenced by bands such as Cage the Elephant, Fidlar, and The Rolling Stones. Shane has created a diverse and dynamic spectrum of style in his music. From catchy Pop Punk guitar melodies to pumped up funky bass rhythms The Kid Lickies bring an array of music along with with a high octane group performers. With David Venn on lead guitar, Kent Wang on the base, and Reid MacMaster on the drums, The Kid Lickies make every live performance a bang. The Kid Lickies are currently looking to bring their sound to the city of Toronto and are working on a future E.P release for spring 2017.

The band originated in the small suburban town of Tecumseh Ontario. Shane met founding drummer Matt Pinsonault where he met his present day lead guitarist David Venn. They would then write their first single “Wasted Away”. Lyrics and brought a melody to compose the rest of the song with the rest of the current Kid Lickies. Throughout high school they would write and compose 5 more songs to add to their repertoire. After the high school talent shows and music cafe’s we finally decided to take it to the local bar scene in Windsor Ontario.

    Through other local bands they scammed shows opening up for more popular bands around Windsor at bars such as The Milk Coffee Bar, The Green Bean Cafe, The Beer Exchange, Club Alouette, and many fundraisers most notably The Smiles For Miles fundraiser. The Kid Lickies are a new wave punk experience not yet brought to the streets of Toronto. By the end of their reign in Windsor they ended being the headlining act at the Milk Coffee Bar. Shane has recently relocated to the greater Toronto area for Independent Music Production at Seneca College North York. Now living in the Annex Surrounded by the beautiful ambience of Toronto’s most beautiful neighbourhoods. TKL is working to write new material that will reflect experiences in this new environment.
