The Last Navigator

High energy 4-man band, The Last Navigator, not only makes heavy indie-rock music but also aims to “help people find their own road in a very lost world”.

The Bloemfontein-based band is said to release a new single in mid-October and also has plans to release their very first EP in early November 2020. The band, whose success has grown since their first ever live performance, has plans to one day tour the country to share their story. Their dream is to share their love for making music in a unique way.

Band member, Duncan Seaman, told Bloemfontein Courant that the band combines rock, indie and heavy instrumental breakdowns with relatable lyrics to form a party rock-type ofsound. “We want to use music and lyrics to relate to people, to give them a bit of hope and leave them feeling ready for life and its challenges,” said Seaman.

The path of the four members crossed over the past years when they were each making their own music. In no time The Last Navigator was born. “The four of us grew up in Bloem. Through the years we met each other and played together a few times. Eventually this year our drummer, Jaco Kock, and I started playing and writing songs.

After the first time we had played, we knew we had something special and with the addition of Arndt Viviers (lead), we played our first gig in December 2019 as a no-name band. At first we just wanted ‘to test the waters’. After great feedback, we added Deon Taylor (bass) to complete the band,” said Seaman.
