Bio
The Macks are an Alternative Rock/Blues/Punk band from Portland, OR, formed in 2015. The group consists of vocalist Sam Fulwiler, guitarist Ben Windheim, bassist Bailey Sauls, and drummer Joe Windheim. Just formed out of Sherwood High School, the four members demonstrate tight musicianship, impressive stage presence, and refreshing creativity that greatly exceeds the age of the group.
The Macks' music takes influence from a variety of sources, including modern garage and blues rock artists such as Cage The Elephant and The Black Keys as well as delta blues artists such as Junior Kimbrough and Howlin' Wolf while also taking from modern hip-hop groups such as Odd Future.
When performing live, the group carries a ton of young energy while preserving professionalism, featuring frontman Fulwiler free of any instruments allowing him to take on an entertaining frontman role. Guitarist Ben Windheim plays refined and new blues guitar that shows off his long-earned skill with the instrument. The youngest member of the group, Joe Windheim, drums with a calmness with confident and impressive fills all over any song. Bassist Bailey Sauls provides powerful backing vocals and holds down the band with driving grooves.
Coming off their brand new EP "Cha Bunky" recorded entirely in a DIY studio in Ben's bonus room, the group attempts and succeeds in transferring their onstage intensity and energy into a digital medium. The records have a charming lo-fi vibe that still feeds off the professionalism of the group.
The Macks have big plans for future, and have all the time and drive in the world to achieve that.
