The Matic

The Matic is composed of three diverse musicians in the pursuit of musical literacy and exploration.  The group was formed in the later end of 2015.  Nate Meredith(27) and Jake Martin(24) have known each other since high school and wanted to form a group that culminates a sound distinguishable in today's world of music. They found Chris Petty(22), a jazz enthusiast, percussionist, and a recent alumni of Berklee College of Music to be their third member and drummer. After Chris accepted their invitation, the band took to the studio and stage to build their skill.  Nate’s roots are in Celtic, classical and blues music, and he has been studying composition on his own from a young age.  His curiosity and personal philosophy of the ceaseless adventure of life can be heard through his works. As a man of many passions, Nate studied music and performed as Principal Bassist in his university's symphony orchestra for five years, while completing two bachelor's degrees in other fields.  Jake also has a long history in music. He started out on the violin, ventured to the drums, piano, and many other instruments, but finally acquired a guitar at age 14.  From that point on, Jake dedicated himself to the lifelong pursuit of mastering the guitar.  With a passion for reading and writing, Jake also seeks to portray ideas and emotion through his songwriting.  All three young men have a quiet confidence about them which shows in their music.  Keep an eye out for these guys, because they have something to say.
