Bio
The Paris Buns are a rock group consisting of singer-songwriter Will Sisskind and a group of imaginary (and sometimes real) friends.
Proudly from Syracuse but fighting to make it in New York, The Paris Buns began as a curiosity in 2015 with a broken MacBook Pro, a headphone mic, and a cheap blue Ibanez guitar. The concept, Will thought: "If anyone can make music, then so can I."
That unbridled egotism and blatant narcissism have driven Will to play some of NYC's best venues for live music such as The Bitter End, Sidewalk Cafe, and The Well. Fans have compared Will's songs to those of The Mountain Goats and Neutral Milk Hotel, while more fervent listeners (such as his family) have likened him to Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. His own mother says that he should write songs "more like that Ed Sheeran." Will will never do this.
Instead, Will writes songs about imaginary friends who have come and gone, the life and death of the scene and the many artists, dreamers, and self-destructive individuals he met in it, and his own grappling with unchecked anxiety. Even as he grows older, and despite his increasing acceptance of his age, Will can't shake the need to feel like a child, to scream out loud about dumb chips on his shoulder or whisper about ultra-romantic desires, to walk onto a crowded subway train and sing along to his favorite Billy Joel song. (It's "Summer, Highland Falls", by the way.)
Will and the Paris Buns -- in any form, solo or seventy-piece jam band, headbanging rockers or harmonizing indie twee warblers -- have come to play music, come Hell and/or high water, and that's exactly what they'll do.
Please contact Will at theparisbuns@gmail.com for booking info, business inquiries, or just to chat. Thanks!
