The Part-Time Gentlemen is a 3-piece band from Cincinnati's West Side that plays a blend of original and traditional Old Time and Americana music. Their music can be described as down-home banjo-driven folk.
The Part-Time Gentlemen first met at a pickin' party. Long-time friends TJ Male (guitar, vocals) and Nick Sansone (banjo) were having a smoke break when they were approached by bassist Jon Doll and the rest is history. "It was
like something clicked" says Doll. TJ says is more colorfully: "I heard Jon play the first bass note and I literally stopped playing and hugged him."
Since that chance encounter, the Gents have played at many of Cincinnati's premier venues including The Southgate House Revival and MOTR, among others. It was this sucess that inspired them to accept a residency at Boswell Alley in Northside with fellow musician and friend James Funk of Red Beard's Revenge and Moonshine and Wine.
