Bio
The Pete Anderson Jazz Sextet is a hard hitting, New York Jazz Club style band, playing the music made famous in the late 1950s called Hard Bop; an infusion of R&B, blues, and gospel with its predecessor - Bebop. This six-piece group is best known in the Richmond jazz community as having a repertoire that specializes in the music of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. The list of those who have performed with The Sextet reads like a who's who of the areas greatest jazz musicians. The band features Tim Lett (trumpet), Steve Norfleet (tenor sax), Pete Anderson (trombone), Lee Covington (piano), Rusty Farmer (bass), and Keith Willingham (drums.)
