The Portion

The Portion brings together several different genres, meshing heart-tugging harmonies with gritty chords, cinematic climaxes, and poetic lyrics in order to express the joy that comes from recognizing human weakness. Written by Justin Sinclair and Aaron Feeney, each song has a totally different musical and lyrical impact on the listener. No one song can sum up the album, since influences include everything from church hymns to 60's rockers to film scores. But with each turn, the intent is to bring listeners home to joyful reunion with their Creator. This album hits the soul harder than it does the ears.

Aaron Feeney (guitars, drums, bass, vocals) and Justin Sinclair (accordion, piano, ukulele, drums, vocals) are the songwriters, lyricists, and primary musicians, but other musicians have come alongside them with bass, drums, upright bass, cello, and vocals. The musical aspect of The Portion serves the lyrical element, which expresses the pain and joy of life on this earth and the hope of a future where pain no longer exists.
