Bio
The Powell Younger Project is a 5 piece R&B outfit that has been a "soul provider" in the Baltimore area for close to eight years. Strong lead vocals and vocal harmonies are featured and backed by musicians who play at a high level. R&B is Black roots music that can be enjoyed by all as long as you have a pulse. Lead vocals are provided by the tandem of Roy Younger and Tevin Brown. Roy's rough-hewn and mature tenor is complemented by Tevin's silky smooth neo-soul delivery. Tevin doubles on keys as well. The rhythm section features Chuck Brown on bass and Bernard Taliaferro on drums. Rounding out the sound is guitarist and background vocalist, Bryan Powell. From Motown to Stax, this band covers a great deal of territory and throw in a few surprises from other genres as well. Looking for some hot buttered soul? Look no further than The PYP!
