Bio

"I enjoy watching The Racket perform their music live. They are an amazing band, with wonderful musicianship, great vocalist and really cool tunes. One of the most promising young bands from BC. For sure their future is bright." -  Alex Cuba, grammy award winning artist

The Racket has gained a substantial following throughout BC’s North West and have played all over the rest of the province. Raised in the rich festival scene of Northern BC, they know damn well how to spark energy and get a dance floor (or dirt field) grooving, as well as satisfying more intimate settings with an acoustic set. The trio plays with techniques and sounds, mixing styles and coming up with original material. From their live performance, you can expect tight n’ funky grooves, slow n’ steady blues, and the driving force of stomp-folk, all the while maintaining a rock vibe. With a lot of songs revolving around social change, their goal is to set the new age to a heavy downbeat.  Everything these boys do is topped off with a large dose of originality.

A notable achievement for the trio is winning a province wide competition put on by Youthink Magazine, awarding them the title of "BC’s Best Teen Band of 2013”. A few significant performances thus far for The Racket are headlining at both the Kispiox Valley Music Festival in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and the Smithers Midsummer Festival in 2014. They also played as opener acts for Trooper in 2012 and for 54 40 in 2014. They have two EP's, “Out of the Cold” and "Fortune", available on Bandcamp.

In present day, the trio is residing in Vancouver. They are looking to play shows in and around the Vancouver/Victoria area as well as record a full length album. So keep an eye and an ear our for "The Racket"...
