"The Restless Atlantic: "Chasm""

Portland, ME based, The Restless Atlantic are here to stay, with their fresh sound and loud guitars will make you dance like crazy while you scream the lyrics from the top of your lungs. Their debut album “Chasm” is out on Nov 19 so be sure to preorder yours, because this is not another rock band, this is a band that’s here to stay. The whole album has a great vibe; these kids got together and created something amazing out of nothing.
The great thing about the album is the variety; it keeps you pumped, while there are slow songs like “Have you Ever Had A Dream?” it just give you the feels, or if you feel like dancing you just play “Davey”. While “ Hugh Jackman” is a combination of both, this song reflects the whole album, how mixing different sounds can create something amazing.

Originality characterizes The Restless Atlantic and I hope stays that way. Thumbs up for this band; they have a great sound and an awesome voice, the whole album is worth listening to. - Loudlight News

"The Restless Atlantic - Chasm"

If the existence of the Restless Atlantic, a young, energetic Portland four-piece, proves anything, it’s that it’s damned near impossible to kill a scene like the southern Maine emo-screamo-punk-post-hardcore-whatever you want to call it-scene. The days of mega-shows featuring ten bands playing in a Knights of Columbus Hall for five bucks are pretty much over, but the music continues. The Restless Atlantic play in that tradition — “Chasm” their debut full-length album, is loud, anthemic and heartfelt, and while after nine songs it might get a little repetitive, it nevertheless showcases a hungry young band playing with conviction. The highlight tracks, like the undeniably catchy “Best Friends (Forever)” or the crunchy, fast-paced “Davey,” will sound fantastic played on a car radio, played with just a touch of pop-punk snottiness and speed. - Bangor Daily News

"The Restless Atlantic - 'Chasm'"

You could name drop for days if you were to attempt to compare ‘Chasm’, the debut LP from The Restless Atlantic, to a similar sounding record. And that’s not necessarily a terrible thing. The Portland, Maine quartet demonstrates their influences from classic rock to grinding mid-era screamo, with a sprinkle of nostalgic 90’s emo to ground their driving sound.

Lead singer Cameron Wheelock ranges from Chris Conley to Claudio Sanchez, although we prefer the Saves the Day spectrum on tracks like “Darlin” and “Some Shine, Some Don’t”. Certainly more straight laced and practiced than other records that have come across our desk as of late, (Boston is heavily into slouchy, fuzz, distorted basement music right now. Whadyagonnado.), ‘Chasm’ is a 9-track modern-day melodic rock record strung together by the sincere efforts of a young band. - Bishop and Rook

Bio

From Portland, ME, The Restless Atlantic is a four-piece post rock outfit formed in January of 2014. With “fast guitars, nods to hardcore, a bit of screamo here and there, [and] ballads that blow up into big rock extravaganzas”, Atlantic made their debut with their first full length record entitled “Chasm". Consisting of Cameron Wheelock on lead vocals and guitar, Tom Cook on bass, Peter Caradonna on drums, and Sam Ellis on guitar, The Restless Atlantic is a “loud, anthemic and heartfelt… hungry young band” ready to take on the stage. Expect a great deal of energy, sweat and passion from Portland's newest rock group.
