Ship Happens! It shouldn’t in land locked Surrey but that hasn’t stopped this co-operative of seasoned musicians, co-led by twice BBC Young Folk Finalist Lee Collinson-James, from firing a respectful broadside at tradition with their energetic rhythm driven mix of traditional arrangements and original material inspired by the sea.
The five piece draw upon their collective influences to create a different flavour to the shanty genre, incorporating subtle elements of punk, jazz and rock into a cohesive Salts sound that has been delighting audiences since their inception.
So come on landlubbers, climb aboard and enjoy the good ship, it’s nautical but nice! - Guilfest
