The Silk War is the sound of being wrapped in both black lace and edge, in both beauty and dissonance. Raspy, seductive vocals intertwined with poetic, soulful melodies pair in a rare way with The Silk War’s cinematic orchestrations to encapsulate the mood and spirit of downtown New York City life. Major influences such as Amy Winehouse and Patti Smith blended with the introspective sounds of The Cure, Radiohead, and Arcade Fire helped mold The Silk War’s female-fronted Alternative Rock sound. The Silk War is a 5-piece band that has headlined venues in downtown New York such as Baby’s All Right, The Vinyl Room at Soho House NYC, The Ludlow House, Arlene’s Grocery, Mercury Lounge, and The Bowery Electric. Their first album, “Come Evening,” will be released in mid-2018.
