The Stray Bullets is a Bluegrass Fed – Blues Infused Auston Roots Acoustic Americana Band formed in 2012 that is based out of the Greater Austin, Texas area. In a nutshell, the band is comprised of a group of musicians who compose and play some cool original music. Players include Tom Caven (dobro, guitar, and vocals), Bob Cartwright (guitar, washboard/percussion, mandolin and vocals), Tate Erlinger (banjo, mandolin, guitar and vocals), Teddy Philippus (bass and vocals), Camille Cartwright (percussion, guitar and vocals) and Mason Dutton (violin, mandolin and vocals).
The Stray Bullets bring a unique, soulful, bluesy and progressive Bluegrass Americana sound to the tunes they play covering the musical landscape from Bluegrass, Americana, Country, Old-Time Traditional, Irish Pub Songs, Celtic, Rock-n-Roll, Gospel and Folk. Besides playing an array of new original songs in addition to the ones played from their 1st album, songs of artists that the group covers include Credence Clearwater Revival, Jimmie Rodgers, The Beatles, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Rolling Stones, Dan Fogelberg, The Byrds, Johnny Cash, Steven Fromholz, Bob Dylan, The Steeldrivers, Chris Stapleton, The Black Lillies, Levon Helm, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and Traditional American Folk.
